![]() It's true that raiding can get you good stuff and be quite worthwhile, especially stealing aircraft. Guess its gonna be a 3rd attempt of a full run soon. steal vehicles/planes, specially the "medical tank" and the 8-seat ship the former is good for healing up people, reassembling disabled limbs and capturing aliens. Originally posted by tarx2004:guess i need to read "Noobs guide to playing Phoenix Point", seems like trying to be good with the 3 factions will hinder your development, guess its possible to ally with one and just be unfriendly with 1 or 2, as long as not to the point that the factions will be attacking you or your bases.Ģ. (Exception: be a bit wary about trading tech, the margins are narrower. ![]() Almost every trade you can make is profit, so make them all and let the riches pile up. It does take a chunk of resources though, unless you strategically steal somebody else's combat airforce at the key time. Another (much less powerful) trick is recognizing the enemy weapons on the geoscape and loading your plane with the correct defense module for the job. Withdrawing is one of those - land hits and then run before close-range weapons or DOTs can mangle you in return. ![]() hehe.Air combat is fairly easy to win, but like the rest of the game you do it by leveraging every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ exploit you can. And frankly, I find the Aerial combat pathetic, kind'a like an after-thought, and to think its a DLC. Guess auto combat does not allow you to disengage. 2nd run, I disabled festering skies, its a letdown for me with a 750hp ship got shot done by a 500hp ship on auto mode, and still unfamiliar with manual and disengaging. I also got an idea of activating bases, although I haven't seen a base with a plane to it. Sigh, the best I have is a hel cannon and gauss sniping rifle, up against that "Scilla", that huge thing the drops minefroggers at every turn. most of the gear I have are reverse engineered from drops. Haven't been an ally to anyone just yet, but at most, I'm able to get augmentations from 2 out of 3. There's also an endgame weapon research from doing story missions and of course there's the ancient weapon dlc dedicated to new weapons."] Most autopsies will also unlock some kind of equipment. Most new research comes from allying with other factions to gain access to their research tree, which will give you their class(es) and equipment they use along with a few other tools. I get the trading part, I trade most food for materials since I always have plenty of them when scavenging. Other than that, Pandoran basic melee is always nasty and should be prevented rather than absorbed, activating bases is highly beneficial because some of them (marked with an icon) come with free planes as well as facilities, and you want to trade with havens to get more resources. The major exception is that the basic gear of the factions is mostly to entirely a direct if moderate upgrade to Phoenix Project counterparts. And most of it is gated behind allying with the factions. There's no advanced armor, and most 'better' weapons are more lateral steps than straight improvement. The tech tree doesn't really give you gear upgrades much. Originally posted by ulzgoroth:There's a bunch of things, not all easy to diagnose, but some predictable traps:
